Erich Meier, CFA

Since April 2012, Erich Meier has served as CEO, CIO and Partner of Konwave AG, managing the Konwave Gold Equity Fund, Gold 2000, Gold 3000 and Nestor Gold Fund. He is also the deputy portfolio manager of the Konwave Transition Metals Fund and the Konwave ESG Gold Equity Fund.

Previously, he was a Director at Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), heading the Strategy & Commodities teams within Asset Management for equities (AuM of USD 20bn). Since 1998, Mr Meier had been responsible as portfolio manager for the strategy funds and institutional funds investing in global equities. In 2002, ZKB additionally appointed him as the portfolio manager responsible for the investment company ZKB Finanz Vision. Following the conversion of the investment company into an investment fund, he continued in that role. Owing to his medium- to long-term negative outlook for the financial sector, he handed over the highly successful fund at the end of 2005 and focused on his investment passion for gold and resource equities. He was instrumental in founding the ZKB Ressourcen Vision Fund and managed it very successfully from 1 March 2006 to 31 March 2012. He was also co-founder and portfolio manager of the ZKB precious metals ETFs. Before that, from 1996 to 1998, he worked as a buyside analyst and portfolio manager for the UBS Portfolio Invest funds.

Erich Meier holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has completed numerous further training programmes, including the Swiss federal diploma in banking. Thanks to his incisive views on macro and commodity topics, he is a welcome participant in panel discussions and a sought-after speaker at investor conferences. He has also lectured on commodities at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.
