This collective, investor-led initiative is dedicated to shaping the future of the mining sector in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner. Its goal is to define clear standards and guidelines for responsible mining that protects the environment while minimising social impacts. The Global Investor Commission on Mining 2030 recognises the critical role of mining in the global energy transition. Commodities such as lithium, copper and nickel are essential for manufacturing batteries, renewable energy technologies and other key components of the shift towards a low-carbon economy.
